ENERGY 5K

WHAT IS ENERGY 5K? The Cornhusker State Games family-friendly road race benefiting Teach a Kid to Fish. Put on your running shoes and bring out the family for this unique 5K road race through the beautiful and scenic Fallbrook neighborhood.

TEACH A KID TO FISH: Teach a Kid to Fish is a nonprofit organization energizing the movement to prevent childhood obesity. For more information, go to www.teachakidtofish.org.

COURSE: Maps will be posted here when the course is finalized.

PARKING: Participant parking available in the Ameritas Campus and Fallbrook Family Practice parking lot.

COMPETITION FORMAT: The race will be chip timed. Faster, more competitive runners should line up near the front of the pack. The ENERGY 5K is not a 5K certified race. Age determined as of July 26, 2014.

AWARDS: Gold, silver and bronze medals given to top three participants in each division.

ENERGY AFTER DARK PARTY: The ENERGY After Dark Party will get the ENERGY flowing through the neighborhood and streets of Fallbrook. Feel the ENERGY together with your friends and family! Enjoy the live music, along with food and beverages from local vendors. Whether you’re a runner, spectator, party-animal or food-lover, there is fun for everyone at this summer party.


REGISTRATION FEES & DEADLINES

REGISTER BY JUNE 16 AND SAVE! If registered by Monday, June 16, the Energy Run entry fee is $25 per person. Between June 17 and June 30, the fee is $30 per person.

FINAL ENTRY DEADLINE: Monday, June 30. Some sports accept entries after June 30 with an additional fee. If not specifically stated in the sport information, please contact the NSC office at 402-471-2544 to see if your sport accepts late entries.

NOTE: Proceeds benefit the Teach a Kid to Fish Foundation. Entry fee includes an athlete shirt, passes to SportFest and the Opening Ceremonies and a copy of the NSC Yearbook. Yearbooks will not be shipped, but will be available at the Opening Ceremonies on July 18 and at the Nebraska Sports Council office during normal packet pickup dates/times.


OPENING CEREMONIES AT PINNACLE BANK ARENA!

In celebration of the Games’ 30th anniversary, the 2014 CSG Opening Ceremonies will be held at Pinnacle Bank Arena (400 Pinnacle Arena Drive, Lincoln) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014. Registered athletes and coaches are admitted free of charge via the All-Star Pass included in participant packets. Admission for non-athletes is $10 for adults, $5 for students ages 6-18, and free for kids five and under. Click here for more info.
