Wave Start Times
Wave #1 - Junior Talent ID Race - 7:30 a.m. Once all junior swimmers are on the bike, Wave #2 will begin.
Wave #2 - Male 34 & Under - 7:40 a.m.
Wave #3 - Female 44 & under - 7:42 a.m.
Wave #4 - Male 35-44 - 7:44 a.m.
Wave #5 - Male & Female 45 & over – 7:46 a.m.
Wave #6 - ALL Team Swimmers - 7:48 a.m. Participants who are both individual and team swimmers must swim in Wave #6.
The 500 yd. swim will be a counter-clockwise swim with buoys on the left, swimming along the shoreline first. Swimmers who get tired or need assistance should swim to a boat or wave for help.

Start Times: First age group wave starts at 7:30 a.m. The USAT Junior Talent ID Race first wave will start at approximately 9:15 a.m., or when all the age group bikers are off the course. Note: Transition area will be closed at 7:30 a.m.

NOTE: Age determined as of July 28, 2013 for all age group participants. Age determined as of December 31, 2013 for USAT Junior Talent ID participants. There will be NO ADMISSION OR GATE CHARGE for spectators at this event.

REGISTRATION FEES & DEADLINES:
REGISTER BY JUNE 17 AND SAVE! If registered by Monday, June 17, the Triathlon entry fee is $45 per individual event and $90 per team. Between June 18 and July 1, the fee is $55 per individual event and $105 per team.
FINAL ENTRY DEADLINE: Registration deadline extended to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23.
NOTE: Athletes may compete in only one event. Entry fee includes an athlete shirt, passes to SportFest and the Opening Ceremonies and a copy of the NSC Yearbook. Yearbooks will not be shipped, but will be available at the Opening Ceremonies on July 20 and at the Nebraska Sports Council office during normal packet pickup dates/times.
Chip timing will be used in all races. The swim leg is a point to point 500 yard swim and will be lined with support craft. Swim warm-up will only be allowed before the pre-race meeting, no warm-ups allowed before the start of each wave. The cycling leg is a 20-kilometer bike around Holmes Lake and Holmes Golf Course - 70th Street to Pioneer Blvd, to 56th Street to Normal Blvd (3 laps), and the final leg is a 5-kilometer out and back run along the limestone trail around the lake.
Team competition consists of three members, each participating in one segment of the triathlon. Mixed teams must consist of at least one female. Teams are determined by combining the ages of all three team members. If any leg in the team competition does not finish, either or both remaining team members may complete the remaining portion BUT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARDS. A wave start will be implemented by age groups (4-5 waves depending on the numbers, approx. 80 to 100 per wave) Order of waves will start with the Championship heat, then the youngest to oldest age groups possibly combined together followed by the last wave of Teams competitors.
USAT JUNIOR TALENT ID RACE: The Junior Talent ID race only is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. The purpose of the USAT Talent ID Series is to provide a gateway to the Athlete Development Pipeline for novice teenaged athletes. The race is a non-draft legal format.
NEBRASKA JUNIOR TRIATHLON TEAM: USA Triathlon Nebraska Junior Triathlon Team is looking for individuals 15-18 years of age who would like to be a part of the USAT Nebraska Junior Triathlon Team. This is a club/team that will travel regionally to compete in Junior triathlon races this summer. Coached by Gary Bredehoft, CSCS, USAT certified Level II Coach, they will have weekly group training activities through the summer. NOTE: Swim course may be altered due to water and/or weather conditions in a manner that will not conflict with other ongoing lake activities.
TEAM WAIVER: The team waiver form must be signed by each team member (by parent/guardian, if a minor) before competition.
RULES: Triathlon Federation U.S.A. rules will apply. All cyclists must wear a hard-shell helmet. Wet suits and disc wheels are allowed. Center line rule will be strictly enforced.
