RULES: United States Curling Association (USCA)

EQUIPMENT: All competition equipment will be available (curling stones, brooms, and slip over shoe slider). Participants are welcome to use their own curling shoes, sliders and brooms.

AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three players/teams in each division. Fourth place player/team will receive a certificate.

EVENT DESCRIPTIONS:

There will be two divisions for competition. Ideal draw would have ten teams in each division. Divisions will be adjusted based on entry numbers. Eight end games will be played or 2-hour time limit, whichever comes first.

5U division is for curlers with less than five years of experience.
Open division is for curlers with more than five years of experience.

Competition Format

Teams in both divisions will be randomly drawn for opponent in first round. Round Two will see winners playing winners and Round One losers playing each other, in both divisions. Round Three would again see Round Two winners playing each other, teams with one loss and one win would play in Round Three and teams with no wins would play each other. Format is subject to change depending on the number of teams involved in each division. Regardless of format, all teams will have a minimum of 3-Game Guarantee, 5 Events, 8-End Games.

1st – Opponents’ Records (Win %, then Tiebreaks)
2nd – Ends Won
3rd – Points Scored
4th – Coinflip

Roster Info

Teams can make roster updates online.

The deadline to make roster updates is 5 p.m. on TUESDAY, JULY 2. Rosters are considered FINAL after that date.

Teams that register online are able to login and make roster substitutions free of charge. Teams that register via the paper entry form will be charged a $10 processing fee to substitute players. Teams are strongly encouraged to register online to eliminate any roster change fees.

MINIMUM ROSTER SIZE: Four players. If registering online, the minimum roster size must be entered to advance to check-out.

NOTE: Rosters WILL be checked during tournament. Please make sure your roster is current prior to the July 2 deadline.

TEAM WAIVER: The team waiver form must be signed by each team member, or by parent/guardian if the participant is 18 years or younger. If the team is registered online, and the online waiver for each player is clicked as ‘Accepted’, no printed/signed waiver is needed. All team waivers must be clicked as ‘Accepted’ or submitted to the Cornhusker State Games office by TUESDAY, JULY 2 to be eligible for competition. Printable waiver forms and further instructions at CornhuskerStateGames.com/Waivers. *Aksarben Carries Insurance for the Event, but will use the CSG Waivers if anyone doesn’t fill them out online.
