Competition Information

Capital City Figure Skating Competition will take place July 18, 2026, held at the John Breslow Ice Hockey Center.
First event starting at 8 am. Events open for all ages and skill levels.

2026 Cornhusker State Games/2026 State Games of America

In partnership with the Nebraska Sports Council and the Cornhusker State Games, the 2026 Capital City Figure Skating Competition will be the official qualifier for the 2026 State Games of America. The top three medalists in each event will automatically qualify to register for and compete in the State Games of America regardless of the event type they medaled in. For example, a Juvenile level skater may earn a bronze medal in Showcase Light Entertainment at this competition and still be eligible to enter Juvenile Free Skate at the State Games of America.

The 2026 Capital City Figure Skating Competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of U.S. Figure Skating, as set forth in the current rulebook, as well as any pertinent updates.

This competition is open to all residents of Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Dakota. Open to all skaters including United States Figure Skating (USFS) members (including Learn To Skate members), Ice Skating Institute (ISI) members, and skaters not affiliated with any club. This is a USFS-sanctioned event, but membership in USFS is NOT required. Registered members of USFS and ISI must be in good standing.

MEDAL PICKUP: Medals not picked up on site during competition may still be claimed after the Games through the following process:

1. Medal Pickup in Lincoln: Participants who wish to pick up their medal(s) in person must email us at info@nebraskasportscouncil.com to notify our staff of their intent to pick up. After verification of eligibility, the medal(s) will be packaged and available for pickup at the Nebraska Sports Council office.

2. Medal Shipping: If participants are unable to pick up their medal(s) in Lincoln, we offer a shipping option for a $6 fee. To request shipping:
