General Information

DATE: Saturday, July 18, 2020

SITE: Branched Oak State Recreation Area (15 miles northwest of Lincoln) – View Map
Registration and boat launching will be from the Lincoln Sailing Club site.  NO ACTIVITIES WILL OCCUR AT THE MARINA as in previous years.  Lincoln Sailing Club address: plus code X4HC+38 Malcolm, Elk, NE; Lat/Long: 40°58’41.6″N 96°52’44.4″W

STATE PARK PERMITS: State park permits are needed for vehicles to enter Branched Oak State Recreation Area. Permits may be purchased at the park.

TIMES:
8-8:30 a.m. – Arrive and rig boat. (Lincoln Sailing Club mast crane will be available for use)
9 a.m. – Registration, check-in and packet pick-up begins.
9:15 a.m. – Skippers meeting. Registration and packet pick-up will close 15 minutes after skippers meeting.
10:30 a.m. – First race.
Noon – Lunch provided.
6 p.m. – Racing done, dinner/social event at Lincoln Sailing Club grounds.

NOTE:The Registration table and skipper meetings will be at Lincoln Sailing Club clubhouse.

AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to each crew member of the top three finishing boats in each class.

Dinghy Open
Cruiser Open
Sunfish Open

COMPETITION FORMAT:

Portsmouth scoring with fleets: Catamaran Open, Dinghy Open, Cruiser Open, Sunfish Open. If four of the same boat model register, they will be given their own start. However, if three-or-fewer boats are left to start after fleet assignments, they may be combined with a fleet of similar boats. Crew can come and go, be substituted, etc., as long as the sailing director is notified of this at the skippers meeting. Crew changes are not allowed in order to change crew weight based on weather changes.

The event will consist of about five races. At least one race will be before lunch, with time to eat and tune boat before heading back out, then the remainder of the races. No races starting after 5 p.m.

RULES: USSA and class rules will apply. Class membership is not required.

Registration Fees & Deadlines

IF REGISTERED BY THE DISCOUNT DEADLINE:
$25 per sailor PLUS $10 per boat until July 6

ENTRY FEE INCLUDES: Competition in the 2020 Cornhusker State Games; White cotton athlete shirt (micro-fiber or soft cotton lightweight tri-blend upgrade available); Sponsor gifts and coupons.

PAPER ENTRY FORMS: Paper entry forms will be accepted with a $5 processing fee. Registering online saves time, money and trees.

Athlete Packets

Due to COVID-19, all athlete packets will be shipped. A shipping fee of $5 (Individuals) or $15 (Teams) will be added upon checkout. Packets include athlete shirt and one free Arby’s sandwich certificate per person. Athletes will receive their packet prior to competition.

The athlete packets DO NOT contain any sport specific information such as schedules, maps, bib numbers, etc. For sport-specific details, refer to your sport General Information.
