.22 Rifle Prone General Information

Check-in/sign-up: 8 – 8:30 a.m.

RULES: Competition is sanctioned by the National Rifle Association of America as a special tournament. NRA membership is not required. No coaching or spotting allowed. If semi-automatic rifle is used, competitor must have someone available to help with rifle malfunctions and jams. Shooters must hang their own targets.

COMPETITION FORMAT: Each division will consist of firing 40 rounds (split into two 20 round strings), plus sighters at 50 yards. 20 minutes allowed for each string of record rounds, 5 minutes for sighters, for a total of 25 minutes per string. The official target will be the NRA A23-5.

EQUIPMENT: All shooters must bring 6 binder clip type paper clips. All rifles will be single shot loaded. Rifles may be single shot or semi-automatic with box or rotary type magazine or certain tube type rifles only. To ensure safety requirements competitors with tube type rifles will be required to demonstrate that the rifle is capable of being single shot loaded without using the tube. Hunter class is any out of the box hunting rifle with iron sights, no scopes. Hunter classes will be allowed slings, mats and spotting scopes only (no shooting coats or gloves). Match class is any rifle 9.5 lb or less with iron sights. Open class is any rifle with any sight.

AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

NOTE: Open competitors will be issued an NRA temporary scorebook, which will be used to determine their classification in lieu of an official NRA classification card for 2018.

AGE GROUP DEFINITIONS:
Novice: Any age that HAS NOT won a gold medal in the State Games in the last two years.
Sub-Junior: Shooter born in 2005 or later.
Intermediate Junior: Shooter born from 2002-2004.
Junior: Shooter born 1999-2001.
Expert: Any age that HAS won a gold medal in the State Games in the last two years.

Targets will be scored by an official scorer.

COMPETITION FORMAT: NRA International Rifle Rules 2013 will be modified by the Match Director to facilitate a family friendly environment and relaxed atmosphere of the Cornhusker Games. Shooters will fire record shots in order of 20 rounds kneeling in 35 minutes, 20 rounds prone in 35 minutes and 20 rounds standing in 35 minutes.  Shooter will fire 5 rounds on each record bullseye. Unlimited sighters will be allowed any time during the string. The distance to the target will be 50 yards using a 50m target reduced to 50 yards (NRA A-51).

Registration Fees & Deadlines

IF REGISTERED BY THE DISCOUNT DEADLINE:

MULTI-EVENT DISCOUNT NOTE: If registering for multiple events, all entries must occur in the same transaction to receive the multi-event discount.

ENTRY FEE INCLUDES: Competition in the 2019 Cornhusker State Games; White cotton athlete shirt (micro-fiber or soft cotton lightweight tri-blend upgrade available); Pass for free admission to SportFest, the Opening Ceremonies, and all competition venues; Sponsor gifts and coupons.

PAPER ENTRY FORMS: Paper entry forms will be accepted with a $5 processing fee. Registering online saves time, money and trees.

 

Athlete Packets

Choose the Shipping Option and get a Free Arby’s Sandwich!

Save time, avoid hassles and receive your CSG gear more than a week before the Opening Ceremonies by shipping your athlete packet ($10) or team box ($15).  Athlete packets contain the athlete shirt and Super Pass. Athlete packets will begin to ship in late June. The packet shipping option will only be available for those registered by the final entry deadline. If you don’t choose the shipping option, you will need to pick up your athlete packet or team box.

For those who did not select the packet shipping option during registration, more information on when and where athlete packets and team boxes can be picked up will be posted soon.  The shipping option can be added any time before the final entry deadline.

Athlete packets contain the athlete shirt and Super Pass, which includes admission to all venues and SportFest and the Opening Ceremonies.  The athlete packets DO NOT contain any sport specific information such as schedules, maps, bib numbers, etc. For sport-specific details, refer to your sport General Information.
