John Garand and Vintage Bolt Action Match
Check-in/sign-up: 11 – 11:30 a.m.
Squading: 11:45 a.m.
Shooting begins: 12 p.m.

Second relay will be held 30 minutes after the finish of the first relay, if necessary. Vintage Bolt will start 45-60 minutes after the completion of the John Garand Match.

AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.

EQUIPMENT: Shooters must bring their own shooting mats and other appropriate equipment.

SPECIAL NOTICE: Weeping Water Gun Club is a Civilian Marksmanship Program Authorized Club. Shooters in the Service Rifle and Vintage Bolt Action Match events will be eligible to purchase a M1 Garand rifle from the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Certification of match participation will be available at the match to satisfy the shooting requirement for M1 Garand purchases.

AGE GROUP DEFINITIONS:
Novice: Any age that HAS NOT won a gold medal in the State Games in the last two years.
Sub-Junior: Shooter born in 2010 or later.
Junior: Shooter born 2004-2009.
Expert: Any age

Competition Format and Rules

Shooters may enter any number events.

John Garand and Vintage Bolt Action Match:  Events will consist of 35 rounds, which include 5 sighting shots, 10 shots Slow Fire Prone, 10 shots Rapid Fire Prone from standing position and 10 shots Slow Fire Standing.

U.S.A. Service Rifle: Events will consist of 58 rounds, which include 2 sighting shots prior to each string of fire, 10 shots Slow Fire Standing, 10 shots Rapid Fire Sitting, 10 shots Rapid Fire Prone and 20 shots Slow Fire Prone. All firing will be at 200 yards on NRA reduced High Power Course targets.

Sporting Rifle: The Sporting Rifle Match will consist of 37 rounds, which include 5 sighting shots, 8 shots Slow Fire Prone, 8 shots Slow Fire Standing, 8 shots Rapid Fire Sitting or Kneeling and 8 shots Rapid Fire Prone. All firing will be at 100 yards on NRA reduced High Power Course SR-1 targets.

RULES

U.S.A. Service Rifle: NRA High Power reduced course rules will apply. High Power Service Rifles are M-1 Garand in 30.06 caliber, M-14 in .308 caliber and AR 15/AR16 in .223 caliber. Service Rifles must meet NRA rules for Service Rifle configuration, weight and weight of the trigger pull. High Power Match Rifles are any centerfire rifle, not over 30 caliber, any sight.

John Garand and Vintage Bolt Action Match: CMP rules will apply. Standard Service Issue 30.06 Caliber ammunition will be available to purchase at the range.

Sporting Rifle: NRA High Power Sporting Rifle rules will apply. High Power Sporting Rifles are any centerfire rifle, not over 30 caliber, any sight, not weighing over 9.5 lbs. Competitors may use only coats, gloves, etc. as appropriate for hunting as specified in NRA High Power Sporting Rifle rules. No competition coats, pants and gloves are allowed.

SHIRT SHIPPING: Athletes who register by June 19 will have their shirt shipped to the address they provide. Upgrade and additional shirts will be available to purchase during registration. There is no packet pickup—information or items needed for competition will be provided onsite or online according to instructions emailed to athletes.

PAPER ENTRY FORMS: Paper entry forms will be accepted with a $5 processing fee. Registering online saves time, money and trees.
