Jr. High Trap General Information
DATE & TIME: July 13, 2024
SITE: Lincoln Izaak Walton Gun Club (1/2 mile south of Highway 2 on 134th Street) – View Map
ELIGIBILITY: Any full-time student in the sixth, seventh, or eighth grade at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Grade just completed.
FORMAT: Event will consist of 50 16-yard targets.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals awarded to top three boys in overall standings, top three girls in overall standings, and to first, second, and third place in each grade. Overall medalists are not eligible to receive medals for their respective grade. Ties will be decided by a shoot off of two targets per post or a complete round of 25 for 50 straight or gold only. All other ties will be broken by using the score of the first box and if still tied longest run from the front.
TEAM AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze for all team members on the top three teams. Team awards will also be provided for the top three female teams. Ties will be decided by a shoot off of two targets per post for gold only. All other ties will be broken by using the team score on the first box. Shooters scores will also be used to determine individual awards.
TEAM ELIGIBILITY: Team members are not required to be from the same school but preferred.*Junior High shooters can register for both the Junior events and the Senior events. They can win awards in both groups as they are separate events. Coaches may need to score their squad if insufficient trap workers are available.
SQUAD ASSIGNMENTS: Teams must enter their squad in their shooting order. Junior High shooters will be squadded after all Senior High shooters have been squadded for the 16 yard event. All shooting times will be posted at CornhuskerStateGames.com and emailed to shooters the week of competition. Any changes to the squad shooting lineup must be made by Monday, July 8.
NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR: Attention Junior High and Senior High shooters. If you are interested in also shooting Sporting Clays or Skeet that is scheduled for the same day, your shooting times can be arranged so you can shoot your 16 yard event early (prior to the scheduled 7:30 a.m. start) and allow you to compete at your sporting clays event prior to needing to shoot your handicap (Senior High only). ELIGIBILITY: Any full-time student in the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals to the top three male finishers in the 16-yard event, handicap event and high overall (16 yard and handicap targets). Gold, silver and bronze medals to the top three female finishers in the 16-yard event, handicap event and high overall (16 yard and handicap targets). Gold, silver and bronze medals to first, second and third places in handicap event from 18-19 yards, 20-21, 22-23 and 24-25. High Handicap medal winners are not eligible for a yardage medal. Ties will be decided by a shoot off of two targets per post or a complete round of 25 for 50 straight or gold only. All other ties will be broken by using the score of the first box and if still tied the longest run from the front.

$45 for first event until July 2 (no FREE shirt)NOTE: Only one registration per shooter allowed. Students who shoot for their school should check with their coach before registering, as they may already be entered on the school’s team roster.

SHIRT SHIPPING: Athletes who register by June 19 will have their shirt shipped to the address they provide. Upgrade and additional shirts will be available to purchase during registration. There is no packet pickup—information or items needed for competition will be provided onsite or online according to instructions emailed to athletes.
PAPER ENTRY FORMS: Paper entry forms will be accepted with a $5 processing fee. Registering online saves time, money and trees.
