General Information

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and procedures we have decided to make this event a “VIRTUAL BIATHLON” or on your own event for this year.  This is to ensure the safety of all participants and volunteers.

DATE: Must be completed during July 16-26 time frame.

SITE: Any place of your choosing where you can safely complete the distances required.

RULES: In order to participate, you will need a method to measure your distances and track and record your time for that race distance. You can preplan your route on a map and just use a watch to time yourself, or you can use your Garmin Watch and record your time after you’ve completed the distance. Please find a safe course for your run and bike ride and abide by all traffic laws.

We are asking that you choose to do your race distances outdoors given that Cornhusker State Games is a Summer event.

The following are the race distances you must complete between the dates of July 16th and July 26th.

Sprint Distance Biathlon: 3.1 mile run and 15 mile bike

Super Sprint Biathlon: 1 mile run and 5 mile bike.

All cyclists must wear a hard-shell helmet and obey all traffic laws.

RESULTS: After completing your race distances, open this LINK and record your times.

Record your times in Hours, Minutes and Seconds. For example, if you do a 3.1 mile run and you do it in 25 min and 34 seconds, that will be the time your record. The same is true if you are doing the 15 mile bike. If you ride 15 miles in 1 hr, 5 min, and 34 seconds. That will be the time you record on our 2020 Cornhusker State Games Virtual Biathlon Results page.

This is on the honor system, so please be honest about the time you are reporting.

Results will be compiled after July 26th and results will be posted.

A link for posting results will be posted to the website and emailed out the week of competition.

SOCIAL MEDIA: Because the event will not be in a single location like most years, we will be unable to take pictures or video of you participating. We want to feature the Virtual Biathlon on social media and recognize you all for your competitive spirit and passion for sport. In order to do this, we ask that you take a selfie, picture, or video at some point throughout your day of completing the biathlon and post it to the “CSG 2020 Biathlon – Virtual” Facebook page. Make sure to use the hashtag #CSG2020 when you post it.

Click this LINK to post your photo or video.

AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
