Lincoln, Neb (July 16, 2026) – The final weekend of the 2026 Cornhusker State Games is officially underway, featuring 41 remaining sports at venues across Nebraska. Competitions began Tuesday, July 14, and will continue through Sunday, July 19.
To date, more than 7,500 athletes have registered to compete, with participation expected to continue increasing throughout the weekend. Information on remaining events, schedules, and registration can be found at CornhuskerStateGames.com.
Several shooting disciplines continue this weekend at the Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, including .22 Rifle Prone, .22 Rifle Silhouette, PCSL Rifle, Youth Trap and Sporting Clays. Additional shooting events are being held at satellite venues, including Muzzleloading at Fort Atkinson Muzzleloading Club Range in Winslow, BB Gun & Air Rifle/Pistol at Turpin Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln and Archery 3D at Third City Archers Indoor Range in Grand Island.
Tennis competition, which began Tuesday at Woods Tennis Center with junior boys and girls divisions for athletes ages 12–18, will continue throughout the week. Multiple age groups and skill divisions will compete before the tournament concludes Sunday, July 19.
BMX Racing was held Wednesday, July 15, at Star City BMX in Lincoln, attracting 63 participants from across the region. The USA BMX-sanctioned single-point race featuring 54 divisions, providing competition for riders of all ages and skill levels. Participants had the opportunity to earn valuable USA BMX points while competing in an evening of fast-paced racing.
Hockey remains one of the Games’ largest sports, drawing over 900 athletes to six ice arenas in Fremont, Omaha, and Ralston. Competition will take place at Sidner Ice Rink in Fremont; Baxter Arena, Moylan Ice Plex, Grover Ice, Motto McLean Ice Arena in Omaha; and Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston.
Track and Field competition will begin Friday, July 17, at UBT Stadium with all pole vault and long jump events for boys and girls ages 11-18. The two-day meet will feature over 600 participants.
Additional sports scheduled throughout the weekend include Adult 2-Person Best Ball, Youth Golf – Columbus, Foot Golf , Cycle Tour, Sand Volleyball, 3v3 Basketball, Sailing, Bocce Ball, Disc Golf, Open Water Swimming, Table Tennis, Karate, Taekwondo, Wrestling, and WalkLincoln Outdoor.
The 2026 Cornhusker State Games is a signature program of the Nebraska Sports Council, and also serves as a qualifying event for the State Games of America, which will be held in State College, Pennsylvania July 24 to August 2, 2026.
