Opening Night Set for July 10

LINCOLN, Neb. (June 11, 2025) — With just one month remaining until the 41st annual Cornhusker State Games (CSG), Nebraska Sports Council officials are encouraging Nebraskans to register soon for the state’s largest amateur sports festival.

More than 3,500 participants are already signed up, and organizers expect over 8,000 athletes of all ages and skill levels to take part in 70+ sports taking place across Lincoln and surrounding communities from July 10–20.

The Games officially kick off with Opening Night festivities on Thursday, July 10 from 7–8 p.m. in front of Pinnacle Bank Arena. The event is free and open to the public, featuring entertainment, free Hiland Dairy ice cream, and a family-friendly celebration to launch this year’s competition.
