Here’s the latest from the NSC…

Six very talented finalists have been chosen for the Cornhusker State Games National Anthem Contest. Voting begins Monday, May 4 on the CSG Facebook Page to determine the overall winner.

The Cornhusker State Games Torch Run will be a virtual event this year, beginning June 1. Runners can register to run a mile in their home county and post a photo or video to be eligible for daily and overall prizes.

Tuesday, May 5th, is Giving Tuesday Now, and you can help us—and/or any number of great local organizations–with a donation of any size, which earns matching support.  Click HERE to donate today!

Our Golf For Gold Scramble is still on for June 8, but we’ve scheduled a back-up date–September 21–just in case.

The LiveWell Challenge continues to grow and thrive, motivating Nebraskans to walk, bike, run and log miles in pursuit of good health, virtual badges and some big prizes from our sponsors. Go to LiveWellChallenge.com to register and take advantage of this free and fun fitness opportunity.

The 36th annual Cornhusker State Games, July 11-26, are still on as scheduled, but we continue to work out contingency plans should the current directed health measures not be lifted for July.

The Mud Run, Aug. 15 at Lancaster Event Center and Pumpkin Run (TBA) are also on as scheduled.  Stay tuned to the Nebraska Sports Council homepage to register and for updates.

We will make changes as required for the health and safety of all, and we will communicate any changes via email and our social media accounts. Our office is still closed, but staff and interns are working remotely and eager to answer your questions at info@nebraskasportscouncil.com.

We are grateful for your support of the Nebraska Sports Council, and we appreciate your adherence to the recommendations of our nation, state and local wellness leaders. Thanks especially to all healthcare workers, first responders and essential-services workers!

Sincerely,

Dave Mlnarik
