LINCOLN, Neb. (January 5, 2026) — Registration is open for most sports in the 42nd annual Cornhusker State Games, which take place July 9-19, 2026, in Lincoln, Omaha, Fremont, Columbus, Grand Island, North Platte, and several other Nebraska communities.
Cornhusker State Games competitions are open to athletes of all ages and abilities. Entry fees are at their lowest in all sports until February 18, when the first price increase takes effect. Notable additions and updates include…
- Pickleball will move to Midwest Pickleball in Papillion, offering athletes a premier indoor facility.
- Youth Golf will be hosted by Nebraska Junior Golf Tour and be incorporated into the summer series lineup at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lincoln.
- Triathlon will also gain a new partnership, joining with USA Triathlon (USAT) to designate the Cornhusker State Games Triathlon as the Nebraska State Championship.
- Axe Throwing will become a sanctioned World Axe Throwing League (WALT) event, further elevating the competition experience.
- Shooting sports continue to expand with several new events being offered at Heartland Public Shooting Park.
The Cornhusker State Games is conducted by the Nebraska Sports Council, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Platinum partners include Nebraska Orthopedic Center, FMNE Insurance, Grand Island Tourism, and Pepsi-Cola of Lincoln.
