LINCOLN, Neb. (June 10, 2026) — Organizers of the Cornhusker State Games are encouraging athletes to register before the next price increase on June 17 at 11:59 p.m. Registration information and a complete list of sports can be found at CornhuskerStateGames.com. Athletes who miss the June 17 deadline can still register at the higher rate, but the final registration deadline for most sports is July 1 at 11:59 p.m.
Celebrating its 42nd year in 2026, the Cornhusker State Games will take place July 9-19 and feature more than 70 sports at over 50 venues across Nebraska, including Lincoln, Omaha, Grand Island, Fremont, Columbus, North Platte, and other communities across the state. More than 8,000 athletes are expected to participate in the annual statewide event.
The Games officially kick off with Opening Night festivities on Thursday, July 9, from 7–8 p.m. in front of Pinnacle Bank Arena. The free, public event will feature a family-friendly celebration to launch this year’s competition and welcome athletes, families, and fans.
The Games are open to competitors of all ages and skill levels, with divisions available for youth, adults, and seniors. Whether participants are striving for a medal or simply looking to stay active and have fun, the event offers opportunities for everyone. Many sports include age- and skill-based divisions, creating a welcoming and competitive experience for athletes of all backgrounds and abilities.
