Lincoln (July 25, 2019)—The final weekend of competition in the 2019 Cornhusker State Games (CSG), featuring action in 33 sports, kicks off at 5 a.m. Friday with 39 two-person teams fishing for bass at Lake Wanahoo just north of Wahoo.

Ice hockey, with 33 teams and 557 registered players, also begins Friday and continues through Sunday at three Omaha-area rinks.  Adult indoor volleyball, with more than 400 athletes, takes place July 27-28 at Speedway Sports Complex in Lincoln.  The composite schedule of sports can be viewed at CornhuskerStateGames.com/Schedules.

Other sports this weekend with triple-digit participation include 3-on-3 Basketball (104), Bowling (194), 5K Road Race (183), Fast Pitch Softball (120), Cycle Tour (146), Triathlon (197), Walk Events (260) and Wrestling (210).  Overall, 10,000 athletes are registered for this year’s 35th annual edition of the Games.

Several sports remain open for registration, including the Cycle Tour, Foosball, Kart Racing, Pocket Billiards, Sport Skydiving and Walk events.  Those interested can find information or register at CornhuskerStateGames.com.
