Lincoln, Neb (July 16, 2025) – The final weekend of the 2025 Cornhusker State Games is officially underway, featuring 38 remaining sports taking place at venues across Nebraska. Competitions began Tuesday, July 15, and will continue through Sunday, July 20.
To date, more than 7,000 athletes have registered to compete, with participation numbers expected to continue rising throughout the weekend. Details on remaining events, schedules, and registration can be found at CornhuskerStateGames.com.
Several shooting disciplines continue this weekend at the Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, including .22 Rifle Prone, .22 Rifle Silhouette, Adult Trap and Skeet, rimfire Challenge and Sporting Clays. Additional events are being held at satellite venues, including Muzzleloading at Fort Atkinson Muzzleloading Club Range in Winslow and Archery 3D at Third City Archers Indoor Range.
Tennis competition, which began Tuesday at Woods Tennis Center with Junior Boys and Girls divisions (ages 12–18), will continue throughout the week. Multiple age groups and skill divisions will be in play, with matches concluding on Sunday, July 20.
Hockey remains a high-participation sport, drawing over 400 athletes and taking place across six ice arenas in Fremont, Omaha, and Ralston. Venues include Sidner Ice Rink in Fremont; Baxter Arena, Moylan Ice Plex, Grover Ice, Motto McLean Ice Arena in Omaha; and Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston.
Slow Pitch Softball continues from last weekend with coed teams competing in a bracket-style tournament at Mahoney Ballfields.
Additional sports scheduled throughout the weekend include Golf Stroke Play, Golf Youth, BMX Racing, Mountain Bike, Cycle Tour, Sand Volleyball, Adult 5v5 Basketball, Sailing, Bocce Ball, FootGolf, Disc Golf, Open Water Swimming, Table Tennis, Pocket Billiards, Judo, Taekwondo, Wrestling, and organized community walks in both Lincoln and Omaha.
The 2025 Cornhusker State Games is a signature program of the Nebraska Sports Council, and also serves as a qualifying event for the State Games of America, which will be held in State College, Pennsylvania in 2026.
